The Future Starts Here: The Future of Work and You
The one thing we do know about work in the future is that it’s going to be radically different. We can expect to change jobs, careers and even countries more often. We may well work from home on a contract basis, we probably won’t have a desk to call our own, we’ll communicate more through video conferencing, we’ll work more in teams more rather than individually, we’ll be very unlikely to work in manufacturing which will be mostly off-shore, work will be more family-friendly and people who are flexible and creative problem solvers will probably have the world at their feet. A great program for those preparing for a new age of work.

Getting to Know Me: All About Personal Identity
So what actually is our personal identity? Everybody has different images of, and ideas about us. Our parents, teachers, and friends all say they know us but really, what makes you, you? or me, me? Often students feel there’s one “them” when they’re at home, another when they’re at school, another when they’re with their friends, and another when they’re by themselves. In this program, six animated scenarios provide audience discussion triggers about factors such as Risk, Gender and Body Image that go towards constructing our personal identity. After each scenario students talk about the particular concepts of personal identity brought up in that episode. Dr Jenny Proimos, an Adolescent Health expert, comments on the themes considered in each scenario.

Girls’ Business: Friendship and Bullying in Schools
Girls can be the best of friends or the worst of enemies. Instead of physical aggression typical of boys, girls tend to use indirect techniques that are equally devastating to the victim. This program examines some of these strategies and helps us to understand why some girls adopt these methods of expression. We focus particularly on relational aggression. The program also offers advice for girls who are targets and asks all girls to consider if they are being honest about the way they communicate their annoyance and anger.

Global Tectonics: Competing Theories
Through dramatization and animated graphics, this program clearly explains current theories regarding the structure of the Earth, and how the continents came to be in their current positions. It explores the history behind the widely accepted theory of Tectonic Plates, involving Continental Drift and Sea Floor Spreading, and then examines the alternative theory of Global Expansion. Featuring a range of geological evidence, expert opinions and even a trip back in time to visit Galileo Galilei at his home in Florence, this program looks at how once hotly-disputed ideas can become accepted as scientific fact.

Gluten-Free Foods
Have you ever wondered how the bread in your sandwich gets its wonderfully soft, springy texture? It’s not the yeast – although that helps. Nor is it the starch, the fat or the sugar, although they all have a part to play. In fact, it’s a unique protein called gluten. Paul Smith, from FG Roberts Foods, has been developing gluten-free bread flour for almost ten years. With the help of Paul and a few of those people he works closely with, the program examines the following: the characteristics and properties of gluten, the causes and symptoms of coeliac disease, the effect of bread ingredients on gluten and the challenge of producing and marketing gluten-free products.
