It is however a highly complex system, and when it is overwhelmed, things can get a lot more serious. In this informative and engaging program the three levels of immune defense are explored in isolation and as part of a disparate yet interconnected system. High quality animations are used to illustrate the nature of specific and nonspecific defense mechanisms deployed by the human immune system. Influences on Design
Many factors influence the design of products, systems or environments. Designers must consider how these factors will have an impact on their eventual users, environments and the wider world. Designers have to use materials sympathetically and consider the conflicting demands that moral, cultural, economic, and social values and needs can have in the planning and in the designing of products. In six independent chapters, this program explores the influences that culture, subculture, egalitarianism, global society, hedonism, and sustainability have on design. Packed with engaging imagery and real-life examples, this program will stimulate viewers to think about the influences on their design work.

It’s All About Culture
The culture of any workplace is shaped by its people. It’s always unique, because people are unique, and as personnel changes in a workplace, so too does the culture – often in small, but significant ways. The elements that build a workplace culture are common to all places of employment, and they permeate all aspects of operations, as well as impacting on image, within organizations and outside of them. Creating and building an appropriate and positive workplace culture is paramount to success. This program covers important aspects of identifying, building and changing a workplace culture. We hear from three different organizations about their corporate cultures – multimedia games designer and developer Firemint, surf and ski wear giant Oakley; and Australia’s Bendigo Bank. It is an ideal resource for prompting thought, discussion and action on this important topic.
