  • Intersexed

The birth of a child is one of life’s greatest gifts. The first question any one asks is, “was it a boy or a girl?” Sometimes the answer is “we’re not sure”. And when this happens, parents have to face difficult decisions with no easy answers. The Sex Files explores what intersexed means by interviewing some of the top researchers in the field. • Testicles

They’re not pretty but they hold the keys to life. They’re only six centimetres long, but they hold more than 200 metres worth of sperm creating genetic material. From learning the subtleties of eye contact to being more aware of the often unconscious hints you give off in a social setting, sexual signalling is a complex language all its own. Aside from the hackneyed clichés about gay men being more ‘artsy’ and lesbians being more ‘mannish’ than their straight counterparts, there is at least one commonly observed physical characteristic that is found among a much higher proportion of homosexual people than of heterosexuals: left-handedness. Martin Lalumiere, Ray Blanchard, and Kenneth J.
