  • Linear Functions – An Introduction

Linear functions are one of the most important and basic of functions that students study in algebra. In this program, our presenter Sharpie show students the different forms of linear functions; tables, graphs and equations. Students explore the concept of the y-intercept and learn how determine the slope of a line given any two points on the line. Students plot linear graphs from linear equations and discover with the gradient and y-intercept they can not only sketch the linear graph but also determine the linear equation for a line.

  • Pythagoras’ Theorem – An Introduction

This program explores one of the oldest, most-well known and widely used mathematical relationships in history – The Pythagorean Theorem. Using a step-by-step approach, this program explores the concept of right angled triangles and The Pythagoras Proof using geometric squares associated with each of the sides, calculates the lengths of both the hypotenuse and shorter sides in a number of right angled triangles as well as applying the Pythagorean Theorem to a number of real life applications.
