From the studios of WORD in Bookerville, this is Reading for Children! Join our young radio hosts as they share the joy of the written word with their listeners, while exploring strategies that can help them become better readers. On their weekly radio program, Cover 2 Cover, the young radio personalities investigate different elements of the reading process, including: Comprehension, Reading Fiction & Nonfiction, Identifying Words, Identifying Letters & Sounds and Reading Aloud. From radio plays featuring classic children’s literature accompanied by humorous sound effects, to game shows, phone-ins and imaginative adventures, the student staff at Cover 2 Cover both explains and models the hands-on, practical strategies that no young reader should be without. The Reading for Children Video Series provides learning strategies that can assist struggling readers and challenge active readers so that all students can share in the joy of reading!
